All aboard...

Welcome to M. A. Tailor's "paint" series.

Upon frequent visits to the Illinois Railway Museum, I combed through hundreds of decrepit rail cars to photograph close-ups of weather-eaten trains as musings for my canvas. Like dissecting an elephant with a magnifying glass in one hand and a pallet knife in the other, I translate my findings from camera to oil paints in abstract form.

My goal is to derail into an alternate world of textures and colors most people find undesirable, and expose the beauty of their decay.
